Kirby Students Participate in 62nd Annual High School Show

Over 75 pieces of Kirby student artwork were displayed at Santa Cruz Art League’s 62nd Annual High School Show, a professional gallery exhibition of high school artist’s work. The state-of-the-art space illuminated the creativity and vision of the next generation of artists from Santa Cruz County. The exhibition was held between April 28th-May 21st, 2017.

The following Kirby students received ribbons:
  • Drawing: Ali Mackie, 1st Place; Bingbin Chen, 2nd Place; Honorable Mentions: Julie Robinson and Ellie Wholey.
  • Watercolor: Abby Moerer, 1st Place.
  • Black and White Photography: Marina Smith, 1st Place; Sorel Gosswiller, 2nd Place; Honorable Mention: Zoey Carmichael.
  • Printmaking: Honorable Mentions: Meghan Brandt and Trinity Esola.
  • Scratchbook: Kiera Andrea, 1st Place.
  • Mixed Media: Honorable Mention: Ali Mackie.
  • Books: Victoria Inlow, 1st Place; Alan Tirado, 2nd Place; Honorable Mentions: Julian Landau and Yanwen Xu.
  • Advanced Photo: Zhihau Zhou, 3rd Place.
  • 1st Place Special Award from the Santa Cruz Watercolor Society went to Max Mandell.
