Fall Athletics Highlights

Girls High School Volleyball: The high school girls volleyball team ended their season at the beginning of November with a bang!  They had the best game of their season- shutting out York in only 3 games (3 out of 5 series).  The scores were 25-23, 25-23, 25-23.  What a fun way for them to end their season.

The league coaches have a post-season meeting and vote on the all-league team (all-stars), the one MVP of the entire league and the one Elgie Bellizio Sportsmanship Award winner of the entire league.

Sonja Fauske was not only nominated to the All-League Team, but she was given the Elgie Bellizio Sportsmanship Award, too.  What a feather in her cap!  A great player, and a model sports-woman.

She also led the entire tri-county area of volleyball players (public and private school players) in aces (serves).

High School Cross Country: Students James, Chloe  and Jeremy  qualified for the post-season CCS Championship Race at Toro Park on 11/15.

Sailing Team: In October, Ben,  Josselyn and Olivia sailed in the Silver Fleet Nor Cal 2 and 3 at the Encinal Yacht Club in Alameda. They placed in the top third of a 35 boat fleet both days and on Sunday Josselyn won first place overall!!   There were 29 different high schools attending including 5 from our local Santa Cruz Yacht Club Scholastic Sailing Program.  The team is learning a lot,  sailing hard and having fun.
