Ms. Aguiñiga is an artist, educator, and curator.  She joins Kirby as a Visual Art Teacher in addition to lecturing in the Visual and Public Art Department at California State University Monterey Bay. Working in sculpture and photography, Whitney’s studio practice uses humor and irony to explore the narratives embedded within places and materials. Her work has been exhibited in California, Puerto Rico, and Ecuador. Whitney directs You+Me Project Space, a pop-up gallery supporting emerging artists on the Central Coast. She earned a BA in Visual and Public Art from CSU Monterey Bay, an MA in Museum Studies from Johns Hopkins University and an MFA in Studio Art from Mills College.
