Mr. Ashmun trained as a pastoral psychotherapist in Chicago with an emphasis on psychoanalytic theories and the psychology of religion. His clinical experience in Chicago and Central California is with economically, racially and age-diverse populations including the African American LGBTQ community, documented and undocumented immigrants, and young adults recovering from trauma and addiction. Mr. Ashmun is passionate about the complex, lifelong journey of identity formation as well as the nature of groups and institutional life. Off the clock, he is either searching for that elusive jazz record, plotting his next backpacking adventure, or learning a new recipe.
