Ms. Metelak, an experienced Humanities instructor, joins Kirby School to teach History 9, US History, and Honors US History Practicum this fall. Beginning her career as a Teach For America corps member, Ms. Metelak has since designed and taught history curriculum both in New Haven, CT and most recently in Scotts Valley at MCP Middle and High School. While earning her BA in History at California Polytechnic State University, San Luis Obispo where she graduated Summa Cum Laude. Ms. Metelak was awarded the FLAS Fellowship, the Robert Detweiler Outstanding Senior Award and was a member of the Phi Alpha Theta National History Honors Society. Ms. Metelak went on to earn her MA in Russian and East European History from Indiana University and has a preliminary CA Single Subject Teaching Credential in Social Studies.
