Ms. Hutton joined the Kirby faculty in 2006 after six years of laboratory research at the University of California, Santa Cruz, where she also worked on pedagogical methods with the UCSC Academic Senate Committee on Teaching. She also served as a teaching assistant at UCSC for courses in Biochemistry and Eukaryotic Molecular Biology. Ms. Hutton published an abstract for her work in structural biology with Brookhaven National Labs, along with her work on transcription factors in the periodical, Genes and Development. Since joining Kirby, Ms. Hutton has served as a classroom teacher in Biology and Life Science, as Kirby’s interim Director of Admissions, and as Academic Dean.
