Kirby School has the good fortune of welcoming Lori Getz, teen Cyber Ed specialist, to our community on February 13th and 14th. She will be offering her parent presentation on the evening of the 13th (an event open to our whole community, not only Kirby families) and working with the students throughout the course of the day on the 14th.
Some of you may recall her presentation about 8 years ago, when she offered Gateway students a talk about safe navigation of the web. Her presentation was a topic of discussion for many years as she has an excellent grasp of the risk for teens in the cyber world.
With the evolution of social media and the increased prevalence of smartphones, she has updated her presentations to offer new insights into these topics. We believe we will all benefit from her guidance and education in this area. Lori’s presentations are developmentally targeted so she will be meeting with students by age group.
To facilitate her working with each grade, we have made adjustments to our schedule on Thursday the 14th.
