We are looking forward to welcoming parents to Back to School Night on Thursday, September 7th, from 6:30 – 9:00 p.m.
This is a not-to-be-missed event where parents experience their student’s day-to-day schedule, and connect with their teachers. It is an excellent opportunity to gain insight into teaching strategies, policies, and procedures. The focus of the event is to deepen your understanding of your student’s daily experience at Kirby.
As this program mimics a school day and you will follow your student’s schedule from classroom to classroom, we ask that you arrive promptly at 6:30 p.m. to pick up name tags, your student’s class schedule, and a map of the school. We start promptly from the Great Hall after a greeting from Faith Reid, Academic Dean.
This is a parent only event. There is no childcare supervision. If care at home is not an option or if early evening logistics are challenging, students and their siblings are always welcome in the building. The expectation is that they will be engaged in homework on the first floor (quietly and independently) or will assist Laura Lucas with directing “lost” parents around the school.
