Every year, through the generosity of our wonderful community members, Kirby School auctions an assortment of goodies–one-of-a-kind experiences, unique getaways, and not-to-be-missed opportunities–at the Kirby School Benefit Brunch. Roaring Camp Rendezvous
Hop aboard history on the Beach Train! Embark just down Encinal Street near Kirby School with as many friends and family as you like and enjoy a unique tour through the redwood trees to Roaring Camp. Your VIP train departs at 11AM on May 6th and includes a History of Santa Cruz Trains with Kirby Alumni Trevor Park (pictured above, Class of 2017). When you arrive at Roaring Camp, you’ll be treated to a catered lunch at the picnic area with music from Kendra Hanson’s band, Brod Och Vatten (Bread and Water). This 3 hour journey will take you back in time as you clickety-clack down the tracks, through our lush forest dappled with sunlight.
San Miguel Condo
Casa Yoda-Seuss, located in San Miguel de Allende, Colonial Mexico, is being offered by Sandy Hockman, a friend of Kirby School and local realtor at Sereno Group Real Estate. This 2 bedroom vacation condo is about a 10 minute walk to the city center, Jardin, and only three blocks to the Institute Allende. Wander the historical city exploring its arts culture, restaurants, gardens, and historic center, a World Heritage Site–and return to the comfort and serenity of this delightful retreat complete with fireplaces in each bedroom. If you ever wanted to go back to school only never had the time, here’s your chance! Select Kirby faculty, each an expert in their field, create inspiring adult learning opportunities just for you. Explore the fascinating world of sharks, their myths and preconceived notions with science faculty, Petter Bauer, who has made over 275 international dives to study these predators. Or join Kirby AP government faculty Kevin Campbell in an informative dialog about two global superpowers, China and Russia, followed by a lively Q and A. These unique opportunities and more will be made more enjoyable with adult refreshments and friends! Book a class together and go back to school–no assessments, guaranteed!
