Kirby School offers a world-class academic and artistic college preparatory program and is committed to providing a breadth of learning opportunities, extracurricular programs and services to enable each student to realize their college aspirations while they discover new talents and abilities. If Kirby might be a good fit for your student, we encourage you to take a look at our financial aid program. Like most independent schools, Kirby’s tuition covers 80% of the cost of educating a student every year. We rely on the generosity of our families, alumni, and wider community to fully fund our annual budget. Tuition is set annually by the Board of Trustees.
Kirby School offers a 10% sibling tuition discount to families with two or more children enrolled at Kirby. The 10% discount will be applied to the lesser tuition of the 2nd sibling and each subsequent sibling of an enrolled Kirby student.
Tuition rates for the 2019-20 school year will be made available by the Kirby Board of Trustees in January 2019.
Kirby strives to make education affordable to everyone through a choice of payment plans: Annual, Semi-Annual, or Monthly. Changes to federal tax law which passed in December 2017 may now allow families who have 529 education savings plans to use those plans for K-12th grade tuition. We strongly encourage families to consult with a certified tax professional if they are interested in understanding the implications of these tax changes with regards to tuition at Kirby School.
Kirby School welcomes and encourages applicants from diverse socio-economic backgrounds, races and ethnicities, opinions, genders, sexual orientations, physical abilities, religious beliefs, and learning styles. We firmly believe that a diverse student body within a vibrant and varied learning community enhances the educational experience for all Kirby students.
Our commitment to diversity is supported by our offices of Admissions and Financial Aid. If you are an applicant interested in learning more about financial aid, please take a look at our financial aid section or contact our Admissions Director, Amy Hemmert, to learn more.
Nearly one third of Kirby families rely on tuition assistance. Applicants interested in being considered for financial aid must complete a financial aid application through Financial Aid for School Tuition (FAST). This third-party agency assists the Kirby Financial Aid Committee in evaluating applications. Applicants can file online for the 2019-2020 school year after December 1, 2018. The deadline for submitting financial aid applications and all supporting paperwork for the 2019-20 school year is February 15, 2019. Financial Aid awards will be determined by April for all students who have completed both the admissions process and the financial aid application.
