We’re delighted you’re interested in applying to Kirby School!

We consider applications year-round through a rolling admissions and offer priority consideration to applications received by February 4, 2020 for the 2020-2021 school year. Priority Applications are reviewed first, and available spaces are offered first, to candidates who submit an application by this date.

We also offer a Tuition Assistance program. If you are interested in applying for Tuition Assistance, you must have your Tuition Assistance application submitted by February 13, 2020 for the 2020-2021 school year. Admissions Applications are processed separately from Tuition Assistance Applications. Your student must first apply and be admitted to Kirby School before your Tuition Assistance application will be reviewed.  Please visit our Tuition and Affording Kirby page for more information.

Admissions Application Process

Contact the Kirby Admissions Office to Schedule a Campus Visit, Shadow Day or to Attend and Open House

Submit an Admissions Application
Starting in late August 2019, Kirby will be using an online application tool through to streamline the application process. If you wish to apply immediately, please download our paper application.

  • Complete our Application: Provide general student and family information, include a student photo, and submit the $75 application fee.
  • Complete the Student Statement: Download and print this form. This must be handwritten by the student. The student may use extra paper if more space is needed. Scan or photograph the completed statement and send it to our Admissions Office.
  • Complete the Parent Statement: Download, print, complete, and mail or email your Parent Statement to the Admissions office.
  • Request Teacher Recommendations from your Current School: You may send teacher recommendation requests to teachers directly. The teacher will then send the completed recommendations to Kirby via mail or email. We collect recommendations from the student’s most recent English Teacher, Math Teacher, and Principal/Counselor, and you may include an additional General Recommendation if you wish.
  • Request Documents from your Current School: We require copies of your student’s academic records for the last two academic years, including attendance records. Please download, print, and complete the Academic Records Request form in the Application Packet. You will give the completed request form to your child’s current school. The school should send the documents directly to Kirby.

What’s next?
Once your Admissions Application is complete (including transcripts and recommendation forms), the Admissions Office will contact you to schedule a student interview and writing assessment.

If you’re planning to apply for tuition assistance, you will need to have completed your Admissions Application by the February 4, 2020 and complete the Tuition Assistance Application by February 13, 2020.
