2017-2018 School Year Registration

As we look ahead to the upcoming school year with eager anticipation, we would like to share an important shift in preparing for the first day of school.

In the past, Kirby has held a two step registration process: step one was completing an online registration; and step two was a registration / orientation event at Kirby School the week before school started.

For the 2017-2018 school year, we are streamlining the process into one step.

We will continue to offer online registration, through PowerSchool, the tool Kirby uses to manage and share student attendance and grades.  However, due to the building closure, we will not hold an in-person orientation or registration event before the first day of school.

Parents will receive an important email by July 14th* informing them that the online registration window has opened. Thorough details and login information will be provided, explaining how to login, how to complete the registration process. We will also provide answers to the most commonly asked questions about registration in that email. If you do not receive this email, please contact Kirby’s Registrar.

The online registration process will include a variety of forms (medical, permission forms for retreats, etc) that must be completed before the start of school. Forms are completed and submitted electronically through PowerSchool.

Students will now receive locker assignments, take pictures, pick up fitness t-shirts, and receive planners during school. In years past, these tasks were completed at the in-person event prior to school starting.

The Back-to-School picnic will take place on August 25th, from 5-7 p.m. We are looking forward to seeing everyone there!

We hope you enjoy the extra days of break that this shift affords your family and wish you a wonderful and relaxing summer!

Please email registrar@kirby.org if you have questions.

(* Update: The email has been delayed by a couple of days. Parents should expect to see this email by July 19th. Thank you for your patience.)
